Begin screenprinting t-shirt ideas?

Hi can anyone offer me any advice or references in regards to screenprinting my t-shirt ideas? I guess what im asking is how best for a beginner to get ideas out of my head and onto a shirt. I have a good idea for a niche area and i want to know the best and cheapest way to start. Thanks

and did you know at your super market you can buy sheets desined for your printer. and print what ever you want on them and they just iron on probablly about $20 the last time i did it
