Math problem with my art?

okay so for fathers day i am drawing my dad a picture i printed out on a peice of paper that is 8.5''x 11" but the paper im transforming it on to is 11"x 14". and i would like to use the squares technique were you draw the same number of squares on both of the papers and draw square by square breaking it down to little pieces now my question is how do i measure the squares out so both on the little paper and the big paper would have the same amount of squares?

The technique:

Divide the first piece of paper's width by the second's. Do the same for the lengths. Use the smallest unit.

So:

11 / 8.5 = 1.27 or approx. 1.3

14/11 = 1.27 or approx. 1.3

Answer: Use 1.3 inch squares.

In your case, they work out the same. :-)
